Aborted Sanctity

Something wicked this way comes...

Well now.  I really Will Not Get Anything Finished At All.  My my, what am I thinking, buying this?

... Oh whatever!
 It's been on my mind to get one, ever since I finished my first IK.  It was nice having a fairly approachable WiP to continually return to and do a little bit here and there, and when I finished the White Rose, my crowded workbench felt oddly empty... So there we are.  Also, getting a Warden kit means next time I can get a paladin and make another variant.

First impressions on the instruction book; slightly negative, I'm sorry to say.. One is made to feel very foolish with the instructions.  They tell  spoonfeed one where one should glue, for one.  And the painting instruction on the back-!  I know I've only been with GW since 6th ed, but I'm not a child and this isn't meant to be a child's hobby.  At least, that's how I feel.

Oh, I feel like a child
So you shade leadbelcher with nuln oil? Ooooh nooo, I thought you used typhus corrosion...
But that's just the instructions.  The kit is AMAZING to look upon, I know it'll be a joy to assemble.

So this will be the next big project.  Aborted Sanctity, Knight Warden under house Silenzi.  I scribbled down a few notes concerning the work involved, notes being;

I don't know what I want yet.  I like the icarus autocannon, but I'll be making the missile pod also.

So that's that.  Knight warden, next big project.  More updates on their eventual way; please watch this space, do!

Oh, last thing; I will be making an interior with a pilot.  I'll be using this classic IG psyker.

First member of 2nd flokk Sigmundr is finished

A few days ago, it hit me that I really haven't painted anything since finishing the White Rose; that was a good while ago now and I was afraid I had forgotten how to hold a brush.  Well, not quite but you know how it is, you miss a day in the gym and you feel like the most obesist and unfittest person-- at least that's how I feel.

NEVER MIND where was I... I've hit another emotional low, and initially did not want to do anything hobby-wise because I didn't feel like it... And yet I knew I had to push myself to get something done, or I would never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever return to painting.  Besides, we know wonderful things can happen when we choose to embrace the Darkness descends upon us!
And you wish for proof in this?
 Firstly, a few WiPs I'm working on;

Non-FW suit of MkIII

A librarian

Yesterday I undercoated several members of a Flokk including a few halflet-serfs; so I put on Slashgore and over several hours produced this; my first (technically speaking) Sagodjur Fjorlag canon piece, brother Niði, Þollr 2nd flokk Sigmundr.

For reasons beyond my control-- as in my pvc bottle being glued shut, oh wretched thing!-- I could not base him properly for the photos, but I will get there I'm sure.  I am especially happy with the way the cloake turned out, and the Chain of Zeal looks Very Old Indeed.

And that's that, for now at least.  I'm still depressed but oh well.  Next time I'll have a few more Astartes finished; I really need to get back into painting... Another Big Project looms on the horizon distant; I won't tell you yet, it may fall through... But if it happens, I shall be prepared.

Wretched thing~!

Bits and pieces

I am not ashamed in the state of my desk

I am not a tidy kitbasher.  Not At All.  I think it might have something to do with my artistic talent; more than likely I'm just lazy... I haven't posted in a while because I haven't finished anything worth showing, for I have a billion things going at once and I'm saving up to go to Wellington and a PS4 so sadly I can't buy much new.  Mind you, I did get The Evil Within for about $30 today, that was something I couldn't walk past.
But anyway, I'll show you a couple things I've got scattered around the desk.

Firstly after much debate I finally opened the terminator librarian.  I'm not very fond of the kit but it has some pieces I will be using.  Like the book, that's already been cut up and used.

Here's a slightly modified meltagun with an incense burner for a muzzle; also a WIP "Iron" backpack, made from a RT era one, a CSM one and the fan off a cultist.

I bought Wulfrik the Wanderer to make a Canon Piece 7th captain.  After a great deal of trimming, I've got nowhere with THAT project.

Here's a pretty thing.  I don't often use lascannons, but when I do...

Six guys out of seven and NONE are finished

And finally, this is where I'm up to with my Canon Piece Astartes.  With having to use terminator pauldrons and much greenstuff and every head needs trimming and no arms will ever fit, I can't help but think I might have bitten off more than I could chew.
Oh well, they're going to look nice when they're finished.  I just wish I could get them to Golden Demon...

And that's that.  A few bits and pieces around my untidy desk.  Was it interesting?  And would you be interested in seeing more posts like this, while I have little finished?  Let me know, won't you?
